Plenty on line for Rockets

The Kelowna Rockets are to close out the preseason with a home-andhome series against the Kamloops Blazers beginning tonight on the road. They are to return to Prospera Place on Saturday for a 7:05 p.m. start.

The Rocket roster sits at 26 players, including three goaltenders, eight defencemen and 15 forwards, or three above the limit.

Tyson Feist (Arizona Coyotes) and Trevor Wong (Florida Panthers) have both returned from NHL prospect camps, and the duo is expected to play this weekend.

Noah Dorey, who was attending Boston Bruins camp, is expected to return to Kelowna in the coming days. Minnesota Wild prospect Pavel Novak will be sticking around the NHL a little bit longer; the Czech forward has advanced to the Wild’s main camp.

The Rockets (2-0-0) downed the Victoria Royals 7-3 and 4-1 last weekend.

Kamloops (2-0-1) defeated the Vancouver Giants 6-5 in overtime on Wednesday night.

There are some intriguing storylines to follow this weekend.

Cole Schwebius, Cole Tisdale and Nicholas Cristiano will continue to battle for two goaltending positions.

Newly acquired Max Graham posted a goal and two assists in his first two games with the Rockets. Kelowna traded Alex Swetlikoff and a draft pick to the Everett Silvertips in exchange for Graham.

Czech forward Gabriel Szturc made his debut with the Rockets last weekend. He looked comfortable on the North American ice, putting up a pair of goals and a plus-4 plus-minus rating.

All fans wanting to attend on Saturday night must abide by health protocols.
