“Home Sweet Home” (NBC — series premiere, Oct. 15)

Filmmaker Ava DuVernay (“Selma,” “Queen Sugar”) is the creator behind this new “social experiment” series, which follows two families from completely different walks of life as they accept the challenge to explore a world outside their own, by effectively switching lives with each other. At the end of each episode, the two featured families reunite to share the fresh perspectives and eye-opening insights this experience has given them.

“Introducing Selma Blair” (discovery+ — documentary premiere, Oct. 21)

First-time documentarian Rachel Fleit formed a close bond with her subject when she directed this candid and intimate portrait of the “Hellboy” and “Anger Management” actress. This original account follows her journey of personal acceptance and resilience as she grapples with the next chapter of her life after being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis in 2018.
